Concept & purpose
Designed with a reason to play.
De-Gateways represents the two roads and two gates described in Matthew 7. Players journey on narrow or broad ways, may move between them through grace or temptation, and seek to bring their seeds safely through paradise into heaven.
The need behind the game
Its distinctive board journey contrasts the narrow way leading to life with the broad way leading to destruction.
Biblical learning purpose
Encourage reflection on salvation, perseverance, grace, temptation and the spiritual consequences of chosen paths.
How the experience works
Gameplay at a glance.
Players use two dice and four seeds each. Narrow-way seeds require a six plus another number to start; broad-way seeds can begin on any ordinary roll. A six can move a seed from the broad way to the narrow way through the ladder of grace, while doubles from one to five move a narrow-way seed to the broad way. A six enters paradise from the narrow way and double six enters heaven; double six on the broad way sends that seed to hell.

How to play
A distinct journey, drawn from the manual.

Choose a colour and take four matching seeds.
- 02
Enter the narrow way with a six plus another number, or begin the broad way on an ordinary roll.

Move according to the dice through the numbered stages of the chosen way.
- 04
Use a six to climb from the broad way to the narrow way through grace.
- 05
Avoid doubles from one to five on the narrow way, which send a seed to the broad way.
- 06
Roll a six to enter paradise, then double six to enter heaven.
- 07
Bring as many seeds as possible to heaven; each lost seed reduces the final score by 25 percent.
Move the greatest number of seeds through the narrow gate, paradise and into heaven while minimising loss to hell.
Narrow-way seeds start with a six plus another number; broad-way seeds start from an ordinary roll.
The strongest result belongs to the player who brings all four seeds to heaven without loss; otherwise the highest surviving percentage wins.
